When Christmas comes, you can expect the Christmas make-over of classic games such as checkers, chess and even Yahtzee. The king of the classics, Monopoly is no different-well, actually it is. The Christmas version of Monopoly doesn't merely throw up Christmas decorations on the game board and call it a Christmas game. It brings the holiday into the game play while keeping the essential elements of property acquisition and money management. Here is a short list of the various Christmas Monopoly games that have been released.

Christmas in a Box
Collect Christmas properties such as O'Christmas Tree and Santa Claus. You can make your properties more valuable by filling them with Christmas trees and gifts.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas Board Game
Based on the poem, you will enjoy filling your properties with Christmas trees and presents like you do in Christmas in a Box. You may also be challenged by some pitfalls such as being run-over by a reindeer, receiving coal, blowing a fuse or getting snowed in.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Monopoly Game
Help Rudolph save Christmas in this Monopoly game based on the TV movie. Collect properties such as Toy Workshop, Abominable Mountains and Christmastown. Instead of house or hotels, you add reindeer stalls to improve your property.

A Christmas Story Monopoly Game
Based on the Christmas movie of the same name, the game board of this version of Monopoly includes photos and scenes from the movie. The custom game tokens include Santa's boot, soap (with bite marks), Leg Lamp, Ralphie in a Bunny Suit, Ralphie's Glasses (with cracked lenses) and the old man's car (with the Christmas tree strapped to the roof).

A Nightmare Before Christmas
Photos of 22 different locations from the movie are featured in this version of Monopoly. You can buy or sell properties such as Under the Bed, Sally's Alley or Jack's Tower. Game tokens inspired by the movie include Jack's skull, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Evil Teddy, Zombie Duck, and the Mayor's Hearse.
