At my family's Christmas breakfast there is usually about 50 people. Twenty -three of these people are great grandkids of my Grandmother. We usually have a wonderful breakfast feast of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon or sometimes ham, biscuits and gravy. We don't really do gifts for everyone, but occasionally we will do one thing for each family such as bake a pie or bread or maybe give the kids something. We usually always give my Grandmother something. My cousin James plays the piano and we all sing Christmas carols. Fun times!
I can remember going to these breakfasts as a little girl. At that time there was probably only about 20 people. The grandkids all grew up and got married then started having their kids so it has just grown and grown. It 's the one time of year we are all together.
If your family does not have a special tradition for Christmas why not start one this year? It doesn't have to be a Christmas breakfast like we have but something that fits with your family. A tradition that I started with my immediate family a few years ago is on every Christmas Eve I give my boys a gift and the gift is always a new set of pj's. They can wear the new pj's on Christmas morning.
Your family tradition could be baking for a special cause, or just as a family. It could be visiting certain people. You name it! Find something that you and your family enjoy doing it and make it a tradition.
Traditions make special memories and keeps the family together. It doesn't even have to cost you a dime. Thinking of others and doing things for others is a nice tradition to start. Some traditions are good to be done all year!
So this year gather the family together and come up with your own special Christmas tradition. Let this be the year you start making even more memories you can cherish for a lifetime.
