Christmas Tree Decoration Ideas

Decorating your Christmas tree can be a great way to express your joy for the holiday season. Including that it can be more fun than just a long, drawn out process of hard work, trimming your Christmas tree can be an event shared by the entire family.

This handy guide will not only share the basic materials that you will need to trim your Christmas tree, but it will add a note to give your Christmas tree that personal flare. When your visitors admire your tree, they will see all the personal affects that you have applied to your Christmas tree; school projects of yarn-held paste creations hanging heavily on a Christmas tree makes me feel warm inside, with a sense of familiarity...I can see our tree from years ago. HA! I had all sorts of paste-y creations, that I soon would try to taste, LOL. Okay, I'm going off track- back to decorating 'your' Christmas tree.

The main attraction to your Christmas tree would be the lights. You don't want too many, because too many lights will take the view from your other trimmings and decorations. You don't want an 'over-decorated' tree, that's messy-looking. I'll just say: "Less is best".

Most lights are pre-packaged in assorted colors, which are generally Christmas colors of: red, green and white. Occasionally, you'll find some lights and other Christmas tree trimmings and decorations in colors of blue and yellow.

You can have a choice of applying garland to your Christmas tree, which also comes in assorted Christmas colors, but adding silver to the selection. Garland adds a nice full look to your Christmas tree; and it helps to hold your heavier ornaments and decorations. A garland is sturdy enough to hold that precious family keepsake Christmas ball ornament that great-granny passed along.

After applying your lights, garland, your ornament balls and family keepsakes and ornaments, you can now have a choice of adding icicles. Icicles are a fun way to give your Christmas tree a 'glistening or shimmering' affect. Even when the lights are not on, your Christmas tree will still have a 'glow' from the icicles.

Finally, after applying the trimming for your Christmas tree, you now have to 'top-it-off'. Placing a light-trimmed star will add a sparkling touch to your Christmas tree; some may choose to place a simple angel on top of the Christmas tree.

After you have finished decorating your family's Christmas tree, stand back and take in all the glory! Happy Holidays!
