Take pictures of everyone in your family, you can use photos of those that are deceased and you want to remember, and glue them onto beautiful ornaments. You can buy ornaments that are made just for this and have a space for small photos. A popular tradition is to give all new babies an ornament with their baby picture and date they were born. They can keep this forever and have a special memory of their first Christmas.

Garland wraps around your tree adding warmth and sparkle. You can buy it in all colors and shapes. The typical colors are red, green, white and blue. They do make other types that look like snow, icicles and other Christmas shapes. Try buying both kinds and twisting them together around your tree.

Lights are what children love to daze at around Christmas. You can get the kind that blink, the kind that play music, the multi colored ones or the kind that just glows one of the typical Christmas colors. The star, angel, Santa or whatever else you put on top of the tree normally has lights as well. Try something new one year like having all blue or white lights on your tree.

Bows can be tied anywhere from a big one on top of the tree to small ones on the end of branches. This always works well to fill in any empty spaces your tree might have. In the center of each bow you can glue a small snowman, reindeer or angel to make it more special to you.

To really surprise someone stuff presents wrapped in small boxes hidden in the tree. Earrings and gift cards work well for this. The person who finds it will get a pleasant surprise.

Instead of buying cheap ornaments every year that break spend your money on a few quality ones that will last longer. You can easily have a whole trees worth of nice ornaments in 2 to 3 years. The cheaper ones either break easily or the paint rubs off of them.

Fake snow makes a tree look like its been outside during a snow storm (and still looks beautiful) covered in show. You can guy cans of this for $1 to $3. Spray the edges of your trees branches and try not to spray any of your lights. Its best to do this before you add anything else to your tree.

A solid white Christmas tree is easier to create than you think. It will also make your entire house feel like it's a white Christmas. Buy everything in all white and try not to put ornaments on the tree that don't match. The tree will glow and look angelic. Silver and white or silver and gold trees have the same effect.
