Christmas Tree Farms in Pinellas County, Florida

When one thinks of a quintessential, Rockwell family Christmas, Pinellas County Florida does not immediately spring to mind. Lacking snow, sleet, frigid temperatures and sleigh rides, Christmas in Florida is a unique experience. Like everyone else, we Floridians cherish some of the less temperature restrictive Christmas traditions like hanging lights outside, buying presents for friends and family and Christmas tree decorations.

Christmas tree farms are few and far between in the Pinellas County area, but there are some within an hour's drive. To our South, North, and East there are Christmas tree farms that cater to our longing for fresh pine and sticky sap amongst our presents.

About an hour northeast of Pinellas County, in Dade City Florida lies Ergle Christmas Tree farm. With thousands of trees to choose from and trees starting at only $20.00, Ergle Christmas tree farm is a cost conscious choice. They offer various Fir, Spruce and Pine trees and are located right on Highway 301. They also have a petting farm and are open daily from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Ergle Christmas Tree Farm is a local tradition, and they have many Holiday events throughout the year.

Lazy Lay Acres Christmas Tree Farm in Dade City has Pine trees to cut, wreaths, a crafts/ gift store and a petting zoo. Open Thanksgiving to December 25, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Daily and located at 14920 Swift Road.

South of Pinellas County is Alpine Christmas Trees. They have fir and pine trees available as well as wreaths. They are located at the intersection of SR 64 and 60th street in Bradenton.

The best thing about Christmas tree farms in Florida is the fact that we don't need to brush snow off the trees, we don't lay down in snow to cut them down, and we don't have to wear ski masks and scarves. We pick our trees out in shorts and t-shirts with the smell of coconut sunscreen in the air.
