Christmas Tree Farms in Vancouver, Washington

Kelly O'Neil
Vancouver, Washington is nestled in the midst of the Pacific Northwest forests, and not surprisingly offers a wide variety of Christmas tree farms to choose from this season. Whether you are looking for a fun filled day to find the perfect tree or need to fit in finding the perfect tree between visits to Santa and the office party, Vancouver has the tree farm to fit your needs.

Although you can rush in and out of Thornton's Treeland, it is a great pick for a fun-filled day for the whole family. In addition to a wide variety of trees (including Noble, Douglas Fir, Grand, Fraser, and Balsam fir), Thornton's offers a fun range of activities for the whole family. You can take a hay ride, check out the farm animals, hit the gift shop, have a cup of hot chocolate, view the life-size Nativity scene, and listen to Christmas music. The farm boasts gravel roads and neat fields to limit the amount of mud that comes home with you and your tree. There are restrooms here. This is a u-cut tree farm, but saws (as well as cutting assistance) are available. Thornton's will shake your tree (to get rid of excess needles), bale it, and sell a very helpful "marriage saving tree stand". Thornton's is located at 7617 N.E. 119th Street in Vancouver, with daily hours of 9am to 5pm. For more information on products and services, check out Thornton's Treeland website at http://www.thorntonstreeland.com/.

There are free candy canes and a gift shop. The farm is located at 26500 NE 53rd Avenue in Ridgefield. It is open November 23rd through December 24th. La Center Farms is a convenient way to go as they do offer pre-cut trees and the farm has good parking.
