We may not have the snow, or the wintry wonderland, but Orange County, California does a spectacular job with its many Christmas tree lighting ceremonies. If you live in the area or are visiting from out of town, these tree lighting ceremonies are a must.

Fashion Island Tree Lighting Ceremony
Known to feature one of the largest Christmas trees in the United States for many years, Fashion Island will once again hold a special tree lighting ceremony to kick off the holiday season. On November 19th and 20th at 6 p.m., the premiere shopping center will host an evening of holiday musical performances and entertainment. The tree lighting ceremony will take place in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdales Courtyard.

South Coast Plaza Tree Lighting & Santa's Arrival Ceremony
On November 18th at 6 p.m., South Coast Plaza will hold its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony to ring in the holidays. The 96-foot tree, which arrived on October 25th from Mt. Shasta, will be decked out in holiday adornments, something that took three weeks to accomplish. The festivities also include the arrival of jolly old St. Nick and musical performances by the students from Orange County High School of the Arts.

City of Orange 16th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Candlelight Choir Procession
The City of Orange will host its 16th annual Tree Lighting Ceremony and Candlelight Choir Procession on Sunday, December 5th from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Old Towne Orange Plaza. Families will be treated to a 350-member choir as well as a 60-member orchestra led by Michael Short. Local non-profit groups will have booths providing holiday treats and activities all for a minimal cost. The Old Towne Orange Plaza is located at the intersection of Chapman Avenue and Glassell Street in the city of Orange.

City of La Palma Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
On December 1, the City of La Palma invites everyone to celebrate the holidays with a festive tree lighting ceremony. The event features choirs from local schools, activities and crafts, a visit with Santa and a community Carol Sing Along. The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. and last until 8:30 p.m. Visits with Santa will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. The Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in the Central Park Amphitheater.
