Christmas Tree Recycling 2009

Triad Area North Carolina

Christamas are beautiful majestic symbols of the Christams holiday and deeply seated in tradition. May take family trips to Christmas tree farms or lots to pick the perfect tree. Once home, they decorate with light, bulbs, and nastalgic ornaments that often hold family history. As the holiday season comes to a close, we are looking to Earth conscious ways to get rid of our Christmas trees. Here is a list that I have compiled for the 2009 holiday season:

PICK UP

City of Greensboro, Winston Salem, and High Point will pick up your fresh cut Christmas trees curbside. They will turn the trees into mulch and compost for landscaping.

DROP OFF

Piedmont Farmers Market on Sandy Ridge Rd in Greensboro, NC

Guilford County Prison Farm, 7315 Howerton Road in Gibsonville, NC will be open after Christmas until Januray 15th 24 hours a day to collect Christmas trees to recycle.

Tabernacle United Church is also allowing Christmas tree drop offs 24 hours a day after Christmas until January 15th.

WARNING:

Remember that only the tree is recyclable. Remove all lights and oraments before recycling.
