Getting a real tree for Christmas can really add to the overall decoration of your home. Nothing says Christmas like picking out a tree and taking it home to decorate. But once the holidays are over and the decorations have been taken off, it can become a pain trying to figure out what to do with your tree once it is time to get rid of it. Recycling your Christmas tree is always the best solution to this problem.

Your Options

If you are in no rush to get rid of your tree and you live inside the city limits. You can simply place your tree out onto your curb and allow for the city brush crews to come and pick up your tree. While this is an easy process that does not require you hauling around your dead tree, you may have to wait several weeks before it is picked up.

For those that live outside the city limits, in apartments or just wish to have their tree taken care of as soon as possible have several parks as well as recreation centers that will gladly dispose of and recycle your old Christmas Tree.

Parks

There are several different easy to find parks that will take your tree and recycle it for you. Hanes Park located on West End Boulevard will accept trees that are dropped off in their tennis court parking lot. Parkland Park's Christmas tree drop off is in their tennis courts, they are located on Brewer Road. Polo Park on Polo road has a drop of location in their swimming pool parking lot. Crawford Park is located on Oak Ridge Drive and also has a designated location for Christmas tree drop offs.

Recreation Centers

The Hanes Hosiery Recreation Center accepts Christmas trees and is located on Reynolds Boulevard. On Foxcroft Drive, you will find the Little Creek Recreation Center for another location to drop off your Christmas tree. The Old Town Recreation Center asks that you drop off all old Christmas trees in their tennis court parking lot; they are located on Shattalon Drive. Sprague Street Recreation Center located on East Sprague Street also accepts Christmas tree drop offs.

Salem Lake, on Salem Lake Road asks that you drop off all trees at their gate. Winston Lake, located on Winston Lake Road has a designated area in their swimming pool parking lot for you to drop off all unwanted trees.
