Christmas Trees: Are Yours Real or Fake?

Mike R
Are your Christmas trees in your home real or fake? In our house, we used to have one of each. We had a real tree and an artificial Christmas tree. We would set up the fake Christmas tree in the large room early on in December and have the gifts under that tree. When it comes to mid December or near Christmas that is when we would go out and pick a real tree. A real tree gives off a good pine scent and makes it feel more like the Christmas tradition.

There are many people who stick with one versus the other, but we get both because we like them. Some have benefits over others such as an artificial tree not dying out or the need of constant watering or cleaning up the pine needles that have fallen. Again, both look nice, yet the real trees give off a scent and put you into that Christmas-like environment. Another benefit for having an artificial tree is if someone has allergies to a real tree.

However, the choice is really up to you, whether you want a real or artificial tree, it depends on your style that you enjoy or better yet, following what was in your tradition. If you have a family and children, head on over and pick up a real tree and see if they enjoy it this Christmas. We had the two trees, the artificial one that had plenty of decorations, and that was the tree the presents went under, and the real tree in the other room with minor and more simple decorations and lighting to give it more of a traditional Christmas feel and to stick with the tradition of having a real Christmas tree.

Yes, artificial trees are easier especially when you have pets around. Cats or Dogs like to go under and drink the water too.
