The few hours of peace on Christmas eve posted by Sheryl Young is indeed a true story. A song and video by "Sir Paul McCartney", (not me!) called "Pipes Of Peace", illustrates the occasion. The video can be found on his "The McCartney Years" Video DVD Collection and song on the album of the same name. Nice Haiku and picture Jenn!

Excellent! There is a story that during World War II, on one Christmas night, the soldiers on different sides honored the holiday by ceasing fire for several hours. Not sure if true, it has been dubbed "Christol Nacht" - Crystal Night or Silent Night in German, I guess.
