Planning for the elements and cold temperatures most certainly should be a consideration for a Christmas wedding. Ensuring that you have proper transportation and attire can take any unnecessary pressure off of you on the big day. A traditional limo with a driver is certainly an expense, but takes the burden of driving in what could be inclement weather off of you and your wedding party. If you get a limo in the right size, you can fit your entire wedding party and close family with you which can make for even more fun. Bundling up can make a cold winter's day a bit more bearable at Christmas time and your wedding should be no different. Be sure to include a fur (even if it's feux) stoll in your wardrobe, and perhaps include a cape or covering of some type for your bridesmaids.
Most venues are already decorated with beautiful lights, Christmas decorations, and lush greenery--use this as an amazing back setting for your wedding. Add to this and set the tone by adding in Christmas flowers in your centerpieces such as Calla Lillies and perhaps sprigs of holly. Incorporating Christmas colors such as red and green can be beautiful, and if you don't want it to look too traditional or cliche mix it up with different shades. Perhaps add in a bit of silver or chocolate brown for a well rounded color palette that gives the Christmas feel without being too overpowering.
A meal with all the trimmings is an essential, there is no set menu but be sure that it's a classic. Incorporate something elegant such as filet or salmon for a memorable Christmas meal, and end things with a memorable sweet table. Finishing off the meal with an eggnog can get people into the Christmas spirit. Giving your guests favors that are geared towards Christmas time will give them something to take with them to ensure they never forget your wedding. An ornament for the Christmas tree is an excellent idea, and with your wedding day details on it they will remember you every year at this time.
Planning a Christmas wedding can add to this special and festive time of year. The beautiful thing is that you already have a built in theme with decorations and accessories at your finger tips. Make Christmas even more memorable with a wedding that your guests will never forget!
