By far, the best place to stay in New York is the W Hotel Time Square. its in the middle of all the action, around the corner from Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral and Macy's. What an exciting feeling to pull up to the W Hotel. The second you walk in through the doors you can feel the vibe, its so trendy and hip. The room we chose always has to have a view of Time Square.
The first thing we do once we hit the streets is visit St. Patrick's Cathedral. Its so beautiful, so majestic. You can sit and watch people from all over the world, so many nationalities. Its an inspiring place and a great spiritual presence is felt. From there you cross the street and visit the tree in Rockefeller Center, You can feel the Christmas spirit. Everyone walking with shopping bags in hand, laughing, filled with Christmas cheer. For those that haven't had the opportunity to have lunch or dinner in the restaurants by the ice skating rink, its got to be on your to do list. Its in the bottom level of Rockefeller Center, and you can sit and watch the people ice skate.
A trip to New York wouldn't be the same without a visit to Central Park. Its so grand and gorgeous and full of energy. An interesting area in the park is Strawberry Fields, a monument for John Lennon, which over looks the building he used to live in and was shot and killed at.
I can't forget Little Italy and China Town. What history remains in these two sections. Little Italy has the most delicious food. The restaurants serve authentic Italian cuisine. Its family style, the owners are people that have lived there for generations and continue to carry on the family business. Also, the cannolis are out of this world. China town is so fast paced, full of small shoppes selling everything you could ever think of.
New York is such a fabulous place, its my favorite place in the whole world. It has a special place in my heart. it gets me in the Christmas spirit, it helps me feel like all my troubles have disappeared.
