Chupacabra Goat Sucker

Rielle
Chupacabra, it means goat sucker. Chupa, meaning to suck and cabra meaning goat. Many believe a creature by this name exists, that it is a vampiric creature that sucks the blood from livestock or even household pets until they are dead or out of blood. The Chupacabra was first reported in North America around 1956 in Arizona. It wasn't until the 1990's that this beast gained much notoriety. It is believed to have originated in Puerto Rico and spread to North America. There are more than 2,000 reports of mutilated and slain animals and livestock attributed to the Chupacabra.

The Chupacabra is said to attack livestock such as goats and chickens and even household pets and then mutilate it and suck all the blood out. It is described in different ways, but most commonly as a heavy, small bear-like creature with a row of sharp spines going down it neck, back, and tail. Others have reported a reptile like creature. Also it is commonly described as looking like a strange kangaroo like creature, 3-4 feet high, standing and hopping along. The snout is long, tongue forked like a snake, and even large claws and fangs. In 2006 a creature was struck by a car, believed to be Chupacabra. In pictures circulating the net, it appears as a pitiful, deformed, mangy, rabid, dog or coyote. It is said to hiss or screech and have glowing red eyes. Sightings have been reported in day and night, though, it is believed that they hate bright light. In Russia there have been reports of as many as 32 turkeys and 30 goats supposedly killed by a Chupacabra.

Authorities, such as wild-life experts and biologist, claim the Chupacabra is nothing more than an urban legend. That so-called "goat suckers" are only coyotes or wild dogs that are deformed or diseased. Indeed, in July of 2004, a rancher killed a hairless, dog rat like animal that was later determined to be a coyote with a very severe form of mange. Many believe these creatures are exactly that, deformed sick coyotes or wild dogs, but many others claim to have seen it and disagree. Some say it is a devil creature or vampire monster. Until one is captured or found and determined an unknown, undiscovered species the Chupacabra will remain a legend, like Big Foot and Nessie.
