Chupacabra in Texas: Alleged Animal Shot and Killed

Was the Chupacabra in Texas Really a Dog-Coyote Hybrid?

Meg G.
There have been two alleged chupacabra sightings in Texas during recent days. Chupacabras are some sort of creature that is hard to explain - they are almost dog like. They are scary, mean, and there's been no real proof that they exist.

For instance, one of the alleged "chupacabra sightings" ended with the creature getting shot and killed. The end result was it was discovered that the animal was a dog-coyote hybrid. It was mean because it was part wild animal, and it looked strange because it was part dog.

So what is it? It's a cryptoid - or an animal that hasn't been confirmed to exist. The legendary creature is said to inhabit the Americas, living off of drinking the blood of goats that it slaughters.

Do you think that the creature exists? Perhaps they do - but they aren't some mythical predator. For instance, one of the creatures that was shot and killed ended up being nothing more than the aforementioned coyote- canine hybrid. Perhaps that IS what a chupacabra is. Perhaps that IS the mythical creature that many haven't been able to confirm.

Why are we so interested in these sightings? The chupacabra has become the modern day "Bigfoot." We have to have SOMETHING along this lines - just like people want to believe in UFOs, Aliens, and another world they want to believe in other creatures as well.

Since the 1990s, these sightings have become commonplace. The first such sighting was noted to be in Puerto Rico in 1990, and the first "attack" of the creature was in 1995 in Maine.

So do the chupacabras exist? I think they do, but that they are misnamed. The scary predator creatures are likely little more than a hybrid of a couple of species of animals that occurs in the wild. If they are only found where there are populations of coyotes, this theory would make sense.

Although there have been sightings of the alleged cryptoid, there are no confirmed photographs ever to have been taken. This could mean that you could fetch a pretty penny if you could be the first to take a picture of this creature.

I don't think it's a myth just a yet-known animal. Just like fishermen mistook oar fish for giant sea serpents. If you don't know what an oar fish is just google it. It's a wonderful fish if you ask me.
