Nathan West and Chyler Leigh Are Expecting Their Third Child According to People Magazine
Chyler Leigh plays Dr. Lexie Grey on Grey's Anatomy, where she has received a large role in recent episodes of the hit show. She is the step-sister of fellow character Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and has appeared in episodes for both the 2007 and 2008 seasons of the show. Before coming to Grey's Anatomy, Chyler Leigh also starred on Reunion,The Practice, and That 80's Show. She has also had some experience in film, staring in Not Another Teen Movie as Janey Briggs.
According to People Magazine, this will be the third child for the couple, and that "They are absolutely thrilled and looking forward to the new addition to their young family," according to one of her representatives. The news is exciting for Leigh, and seems to really be great news for the couple. People reported on this news earlier on December 29th, being the first media outlet to break the news.
This is one of those things that could turn out to be both good news and bad news for Chyler Leigh. On the one hand, it is great to invite another wonderful bundle of joy into the world, but it is at the risk of her position on the show. As a member of a supporting cast, it is always relevant what is going on here-and-now with the show, and a pregnancy could alter how the writers of the show view the character. It would be the hope that the show writes this in for her character, and doesn't just show her the door as they have done with many characters in the past. Leigh's character of Lexie Grey is one of the bright spots of the show this season, and it would be a shame if they lost her or wrote her out of the script.
