Ciao

Mrs.Rogers
Ciao is an online business. It hires reviewers and writers and pays them by a rating system. Each member has certain guidelines to follow.

One guideline is no racial or provacative gestures, comments or otherwise, online. There are a few more to mention, like no plagarism, no cruel commenting. Also if you write it must be worth reading.

Obviously not everyone on this site has read or followed these rules. I for one am pretty confident that I have tried and maintained all.

Sometimes it gets hard though, especially when you have tried really hard to write something that would be worth reading and then you happen to notice a review with few lines, grammar errors, and miss use of spelling, get a higher rating than yourselfs. I think that if someone cannot make it worth reading they should not get paid.

See the system Ciao has is not the best, in my opinion.

They pay regardless of how talented, how resonable a writer you are. They pay for posting a review. It is usually a dollar. per review.

Now you will get more cents if you are rated well by the others on this site.

I have even noticed others that do not have a review yet, but have been members for as much as two months. How can this be?

They have roam to go around and pass judgements on other's writtings, but they do not contribute, or throw theirselves 'under the knife". See this is how Ciao has messed up. First of all when you are opening the doors to anyone, and everyone, there has to be something that can make the hard workers seperate from the slackers. You have to make the ones that are not serious get out. You have to reward the hard workers. This will ensure their continued participation. Therefore, you will have a successful, and ever more growing industry.

Why is everyone always looking for the easy way. I know for me, writing comes fairly easy. I love expressing my views, and personal thoughts, as well as try to enlighten someone.

Sometimes I make errors because I am thinking faster than I can write. I think everyone does that. Foremost I like having recognition for accomplishments.

It makes me want to work harder each and every time and to try and go farther, than before.

If I said the getting paid was not so persuasive, I would be lying to myself and you, the reader of this article.

Money can motivate and even be the sole reason for achievments, and advancement.

Ciao does not know this though, obviously.

Imagine, your working really hard on a review you are writing and the thing has taken lots of correcting and research, or maybe even several days to finish.

Now would you be apt to continue working in that frame of mind if you saw, say, "Johnny" making strides for a two sentence thought he had reviewed using?

I think not!

This makes me angry, and yes I have witnessed it, firsthand on Ciao. It is not the best system going on, and I am still trying to accomplish at full capacity. But I have to confess, if it gets worse than it already is, I may not continue in my goal of writers achievments.

I am not bashing the whole method Ciao has, they are prety quick addressing plagarisms, and they do reply to your emails to let you know that you are being noticed.

It is just that when you are a doer, and not a slacker, the realisms of the slackers can become an obstacle for your creativeness, your drive, or even your own ambitions.

I am here to say, "If you are going to write reviews for Ciao, please do your best." Like every good parent tells their children, "Try your best, that is all I expect from you."

Thanks for reading

Being a mother of three lovely children. I love to write if it will help others, and if it is read and enjoyed by others. Writing is like therapy for me. When I write my emotions come across and I believe...  View profile

The challenge is how to get across good content. Is there the possibility that some of this "not so good reviews" may be what a large number of people actually want to see. I say this because I know people who have blogs where they post only nonsense... In my blog I post mainly interviews with interesting people I meet in shows and so on, I get 400, 300 visits they get 2000, 3000. This is not their or my fault, this is the age were Father Knows Best would not even air. http://glowbrazil.posterous.com . (My English is not very good, but I do try meaningful content.)

I have heard good things about their payment system - that it's relatively easy to make a good pay off it? Maybe your experience is different? I'm trying to research it and see if it is worthwhile.

    you are right, thanks

so very true! I love your suggestions, but basically ciao is a dying concern. There are too many churners producing inferior reviews and the new payment system is driving away the better reviewers.
