Cigarettes

We smoke cigarettes
to prove we're stronger
than something,

and we are;
but they're not
getting any weaker,

and they don't mind

waiting long enough
to see it through.

So we have to

keep toking,
and for every one

they claim of us,
we'll burn ten million
packs.

Until nothing remains
to smoke
except our ashes.
