CILANTRO for Mercury and Heavy Metal Detox

Read About the Proper Way to Take Cilantro

If you have had Lyme Disease, smoke cigarettes, have amalgam fillings or root canals with amalgam, have been vaccinated prior to the year 2000, have memory loss, brain fog, or other neurological symptoms, read on. You may have metal toxicity.

Cilantro leaf (also called Chinese Parsley) is being used for metal detoxification in combination with Chlorella, a green algae. Cilantro is specifically used to mobilize and remove heavy metals that are in the brain and spinal
cord.

In previous newsletters, I have cited Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt's research on the treatment of Lyme Disease and detoxification. He stresses that toxins can be re-absorbed if you do not use herbs and supplements in the correct combination. In his lecture "The Klinghardt Neurotoxin Elimination Protocol," Dr. Klinghardt recommends Cilantro to mobilize aluminum, mercury, cadmium, and lead.

All of these metals are neurotoxins, and are capable of hiding in connective tissues, the brain, the central nervous system, and the bones. In fact, using Cilantro alone mobilizes more of these substances than the body can efficiently eliminate. What is important to know is that metals that are mobilized from the brain and spinal cord but not removed from the body can then attach to nerves in connective tissues.

To prevent what he calls "re-toxification," or re-absorption of these substances, he recommends adding Chlorella. Chlorella works in the small intestine to mop up the metals. Cilantro also assists the gall bladder in dumping increased levels of bile into the small intestine. The bile contains the mobilized metals. Klinghardt suggests you may need to use Chlorella from six months up to two years in combination with a host of other supplements!

The dosage for Cilantro and Chlorella is complicated. Important to note is the timing of the dosage. Chlorella is taken 30 minutes prior to meals, and Cilantro is taken at the end of this time. This means that
Cilantro is taken just prior to meals and it gives enough time for bile to be released into the small intestine. For
more complete information on mercury detoxification and herb dosage, go to his protocol, "Mercury Toxicity and Systemic Elimination Agents."

Interestingly, Klinghardt also suggests that Cilantro can be applied topically to the wrists and ankles. Apply five drops 2 times per day. I'm going to suggest that you apply the tincture, which is usually made with alcohol, then apply olive oil or coconut oil to fully penetrate the Cilantro. Klinghardt also says that 10-15 drops applied to the head can help with headaches and other acute aches.

I recommended using Cilantro, Licorice, Red Marine Algae, Chlorella, MSM, and other herbs for chelation of neurotoxins. Lyme protocols often call for a heavy metal detox at the onset of treatment. I like Allergy Research Group's King Chlorella brand. It comes in small tablets that you can take all at once. Find it in my Virtual Dispensary on my web page.

Cilantro is also used in cooking. Chop the fresh leaves into salads and salsa or make a great pesto with it.
