Cincinnati Bengals Cheerleader Tryouts 2008-2009

While it is too late to try out for many NFL cheerleading squads for 2008-2009, you can try out for the Cincinnati Bengals if you hurry. If you have ever dreamed of being a Ben-Gal, don't miss your chance to try out.

It is too late to participate in the clinic (held April 12, 2008) or the first preliminary (held April 20, 2008). However, you have not missed a chance at the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading tryouts. The clinic was optional, and you are only required to attend one of the preliminaries. The second preliminary is being held on May 4, 2008 at noon. Do not worry that anyone else will have been at both preliminaries. Each person may only attend one or the other of the preliminaries. If you need some extra help, the website lists the contact information for Nikki, a former Ben-Gal.

The application can be found on the Cincinnati Bengals official website (www.bengals.com). The deadline for submitting applications has been extended so you can bring the paperwork with you to the preliminary. Those applicants that make the cut will be invited to the semifinals on Sunday May 11, 2008 at 10 a.m. and, hopefully, to the finals on Saturday May 17, 2008.

To qualify, potential cheerleaders must be at least 21 years old by September 1, 2008. You will have to live within a 50-mile radius of the stadium on or before July 1, 2008. You have to show proof of residence by July 1st.

Cheerleading for the Cincinnati Bengals cannot be your full-time pursuit. You must be working or in school full-time. However, two evening practices per week are required at a minimum. Those practices are from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sometimes, you will be expected to practice more often. You cannot miss more than four practices during the entire season. You must be able to participate in a minimum of 10 charity events during the season.

You will not have to supply your own equipment if you make the squad. It will be on loan to you from the Bengals organization. You do have to follow a dress code for the tryouts so it would help to familiarize yourself with it. It can be found on the application itself. You may want to especially note that you cannot wear black shoes on the gymnasium floor.

Remember they are partially judging you on how glamorous you are so be sure your style reflects that, but wear the types of items specified on the application. Your hair and makeup will be used in judging your glamour factor. You will need to include a professional head shot that will not be returned to you. Your dance techniques obviously will be judged as well.

The Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading tryouts involve an investment of time and money. If you win a spot on the team, you will be paid $75 per game. That is not a lot of money, but many women would love to be on the squad. Being on the squad might lead to other opportunities for you. If you think you have what it takes, consider attending the Cincinnati Bengals cheerleading tryouts and find out.
