Chad Johnson is simply in a class by himself. Entering his sixth straight year of having at least 1100+ yards in the NFL, he has established himself as the go to guy in the Bengal's attack. A character on and off the field, he is in the upper echelon of top receivers along with Harrison, Owens, and Smith among others. Johnson had another awesome 2006 with 1369 yards and 7 touchdowns and this year might be even better with a seasoned House at number two.
House had a breakout season in 2006 finally breaking the 1000+ yard barrier after two straight seasons of knocking on the door with 900+ yards. More importantly, he struck gold in the end zone with 9 touchdowns as well. This guy has a nose for the end zone, and expect him to find it again this year. He and Johnson are a great compliment to one another, and House has risen to the cusp of the upper echelon as well. Another couple of years like last season and we will be adding him to the group mentioned above. Few teams boast the one two punch he and Johnson provide the Bengals.
The number three slot will be a committee of talented guys that might be different from week to week. The second year former Bruin out of UCLA Tab Perry will see some snaps for sure and expect him to take full advantage. Perry was only in two games in 2006 due to injury, but look for him to rebound this year. Antonio Chatman was a bit of a disappointment after coming over from Green Bay in 2006 but again, he should thrive in 2007. He had two solid seasons in Green Bay prior to joining the Bengals and a return to that production is not out of the question.
Reggie Mcneal, Glenn Holt, Skyler Green and Bennie Brazell should round out the Bengals attack nicely and any one of these guys have the skills to take on a larger role given the chance. Reggie Mcneal is the most likely to have an impact with great skills to draw on.
Over all, the Bengals one two punch of Johnson and House is more than enough to drive defensive coordinators crazy. Add to that the fact that you have an all pro quarterback, and a top notch runner in Rudi Johnson, and the Bengals have great reason to feel they have a great shot at the playoffs and beyond. The receivers should have a great part in any route the Bengals take to get there.
