Cincinnati, Ohio's Little Organic Secrets

Go Organic, Go Green

Carol Rucker
Cincinnatians know all the big name places to buy organic products, but they may not know about the little ones. Grocery stores like Whole Foods in Norwood and Trader Joes in Kenwood are the go-to places for organic grocery and produce items. Cincinnati based Kroger stocks its Private Selections organic line which includes baby food for little ones. Park+Vine, "Cincinnati's Green General Store" in Over the Rhine, offers a wide variety of organic and Green personal and household products,

To earn the USDA organic designation, products are produced and handled without the use of "synthetic chemicals." Producing organically helps keep harmful chemicals from contaminating the food and water supply and from compromising human lives. Organic shopping comes with a lot of benefits. It's a Green alternative that's gaining a higher profile in Cincinnati; still a few specialty retailers have remained little organic secrets.

I love the Findley Market (I did an article on them last year) and also Whole Foods in Norwood! I always take a minute to get some tart yogurt at Yagoot when I get out that way!
