Cindy McCain on "The View" Will Barbara Walters Ambush Her?

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Expected to Be a McCain Ally

Cindy McCain will appear on Barbara Walter's "The View" next Monday according to "The View's" website at ABC.com. Will the liberal ladies of "The View" have a surprise ambush in store for her? Perhaps Barbara Walters will draw on her experience to prepare a probing interview of Cindy McCain's family recipe heist.

It was recently revealed that recipes on her husband's presidential website, listed as her family recipes, were actually recipes from Rachael Ray who is seen on the Food Network.

The ladies at the view, which currently include Barbara Walters, Whoopi, Joy, Elisabeth and Sheri, have recently hosted Barack Obama. They swooned over his good looks and generally flirted their way through the "interview". Subsequently John McCain would appear on the view.

When McCain appeared on the view, the ladies were much more serious. At first on the show, he looked like a cross between a deer in the headlights and a fish out of water. He then settled into his familiar good old boy routine. McCain seemed to win the respect of the ladies if not their votes.

Cindy McCain would be well advised to study up for her visit. Barbara Walters and the view have a history of some serious questioning when they want to. Cindy McCain may be able to brush off the sensationalistic family recipe theft, but if she screws up a question on the view she will be called on it.

If Barbara Walters can make news she will. Just observe how she innocently let Rosie O'Donnell have a complete meltdown on her show. Not bad for ratings. It wouldn't be hard on ratings either, if Cindy McCain slips up and says the wrong thing.

When Michelle Obama spoke earlier this year, her words were examined under a fine tooth microscope. There is no doubt that Cindy McCain's words will be just as heavily scrutinized.

So far, it seems as if we have not seen that much of Cindy McCain. At this rate, she is at risk of going down in history as a beer baron's daughter who stole a recipe from Rachael Ray. If, on the other hand, she can show Barbara Walters her charm and if she can laugh at herself for the recipe caper, then she will be off to a good start.

If Cindy McCain can add some intelligent commentary on world politics, then she could win over Barbara Walters and be on her way to becoming the next Jackie O. If not, she will be remembered for a passion fruit salad she couldn't figure out how to make by herself.
