Cindy Michaels is Latest Sarah Palin (or Tina Fey) Look-Alike

Governor Palin Even Looks a Bit like Wonder Woman

Saul Relative
Cindy Michaels is the news anchor at WVII in Bangor, Maine and she's been holding down the job for about as long as Governor Sarah Palin has been the governor of Alaska and saying "yes, yes, thanks," to earmarks she now denies. By the end of the last sentence, no doubt you, the reader, are wondering what Cindy Michaels has to do with Sarah Palin. In all honesty, Cindy Michaels has just about as much to do with Sarah Palin as Tina Fey. In fact, Cindy Michaels is becoming somewhat of a nationwide celebrity due to the one thing she (and Tina Fey) has in common with Governor Palin.

She looks just like her.

You can find the video on YouTube that compares the two or you can go to the website of WVII and check out the comparison there. Fox news (which WVII is an affiliate of) and CNN have also run the story.

Cindy Michaels Really Does Look Like Sarah Palin. Really.

And the similarities really are striking. Both have dark hair, worn bunched atop their heads, and wear glasses. They both favor that dropped bangs look. Both have rounded facial features.

(Wait until the hot pictures, nude photos searches start on Michaels. With the anchor's resemblance to Sarah Palin, nude photos or hot pictures of her would not have to be photoshopped and could cause an even greater stir on the internet.)

Michaels says she has gotten calls from "The Ellen Degeneres Show" and "Insider" for interviews and finds it all a little exciting. She receives dozens of e-mails a day noting the resemblance. Even her own mother has gushed over it, according to SunJournal.com: "My own mother said, 'you look just like Sarah Palin.' She went on and on. Friends and family, or if I go out on stories, everyone says, 'Hey, Sarah.'"

Says Michaels, "I'm having a grand old time."

But the last three weeks (since Sarah Palin's nomination as John McCain's vice presidential choice) have not been all fun and excitement for Michaels. Some e-mails and phone calls have been critical, rude, and derogatory. Some have accused her of attempting to capitalize on the Palin look (Michaels has worn her hair up for the two years she's been an anchor at WVII). One female caller even called her a "Kmart version of Sarah Palin." Another suggested she take her hair down because it was "a look" she "should not be doing right now."

Michaels says she hopes Sarah Palin becomes aware of the similarity and wants to meet. There's something the other Sarah Palin look-alike, Tina Fey, might not want, especially after making that Emmy acceptance speech at the 2008 Prime Time Emmy Awards. Fey said, "I want to be done playing this lady November 5th. So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady November 5th, that would be good for me."

Sarah Palin Looks Like Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) / Lynda Carter

Yet, Fey and Michaels aren't the only people in the public eye that bear a resemblance to Sarah Palin. Palin also bears a striking resemblance to Diana Prince, the military secretary alter ego played by Lynda Carter on the 70's television series, "Wonder Woman." With the glasses and the done-up hair, it's not difficult to see Sarah Palin in a military uniform, although most men would probably prefer to see her in the Wonder Woman costume.

And the Palin look-alikes aren't the only people who happen to look like famous politicians, according to DallasNews.com. Ron Butler, a Los Angeles-based actor, has been getting plenty of work since Senator Barack Obama became a household name. The Obama look-alike has appeared in spoofs on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! andFox News Channel's The 1/2 Hour News Hour. He has also done some commercials for a Dallas-based Kia car dealership that have become so successful that Kia is looking to perhaps use him in a national ad campaign.

They say everybody has a twin. Sarah Palin is living proof three times over (that would be quadruplets): Cindy Michaels, Tina Fey, Lynda Carter.

And there may be others. Many others. There are nearly seven billion people on the planet after all. (And odds are that one of these women will have nude photos of herself -- and if not nude photos, then bikini pictures or something -- so that search will continue...)

But one question must be asked: Would Tina Fey be willing to do a sketch where she played Cindy Michaels announcing the outcome of the presidential election?

I don't see Julia Dreyfuss but, hey, I wouldn't have thought Tina Fey would look so much like her, either, until I saw the sketch...

Sarah is nowhere as beautiful as Lynda Carter! We think Ms. Palin resembles Julia Dreyfuss (Elaine from Seinfeld).

I think they're both "KMart versions" of Tina Fey, Rick. Did you see Fey in that black dress at the Emmys. Beautiful...

Cute conclusion. Fey's remark at the Emmys is priceless. And of course, it's nice to see the electorate focusing on the big issues...like Cindy's hair. Are we absolutely sure, though (as long as everybody on this timeless issue is being snarky), that Palin isn't a "K-Mart version" of Michaels? RS
