Cinema Secrets Foundation Review

Cinema Secrets is one of the most well-known stage makeup lines, along with Ben Nye and RCMA. Since I have been having trouble finding a good foundation with heavy coverage for my acne scars, the Cinema Secrets foundation seemed like a good one to try.

First of all, the price is good. It comes in a 0.5oz jar and costs $20. It is definitely a bargain because I have been using mine for a couple of weeks and I have not even made the slightest dent. I think this will last for more than a year. It comes in a small jar with a clear screw top which is easy to use but not very attractive.

The coverage is fantastic. With two or three layers, I can cover all of my acne scars and dark circles. Also, it is so easy to blend and layer if you were to need more coverage. And it does not make you look cakey even after several layers.

But, I did not like the finish with this. The finish was very greasy look, which was hard to make it look matte even with loose powders. I was not very surprised by this because it is a cream foundation, but I did not imagine that this would make my face this greasy since my skin is pretty dry nowadays. But, this foundation did not accentuate my dry flakes, so I was not totally turned off by this greasy look.

I also love the color selection as there are 39 colors to choose from. They come in 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 series with each series representing different undertones. My match is 302 from 300 series which has yellow-beige undertones, suitable for most Asian skin tones.

Another thing is that this did not cause any breakouts for me. I was actually very surprised because it did make me look very oily. I have never worn this for a full day because of my schedule. I usually have time to go home and redo my makeup in the middle of the day. But, in the three to four hours of wearing this, it came off with every little touch. I even applied either a loose powder or a pressed powder to set the foundation, so I was not impressed by its staying power.

I do not think that this foundation is for me. I think it will be good for those who need a flawless coverage for special occasion, but not for everyday wear.
