Cingular Wireless: Is it Really the Nation's Network with the Fewest Dropped Calls?

Nicole (Amore) Dempsey
Cell phones are everywhere with a lot of different options and carriers. So which one really is the best? For many years I was a Verizon Wireless customer and was always content with my services. Verizon tends to be a little more on the pricey side but I almost never had a problem with dropped calls or service. About a year ago I had to switch to Cingular due to work. I could absolutely not live without my cell phone and, as many of you, am sure I don't know what I ever did without it. Cingular, which now incorporates AT&T Wireless as well, is rated as the network with the fewest dropped calls. Their service is definitely comparable to Verizon Wireless or T-Mobile or any other network.

Every cell phone is going to have a dropped call or go outside the range of service. There cannot be a tower everywhere to make sure the signal is always good and strong. Some networks might be better or worse but as for Cingular, I can't complain. Cingular offer a wide range of services for your cell phone as well. On their website or through your phone, you are able to download ring tones, answer tones, wall papers, and games. Also, you can send multimedia messages with pictures, greeting cards, postcards, or speaking characters. You can download different applications such as Myspace, My-Cast weather, Mobile TV or Mobile Radio. And Cingular offers exclusive ring tones from various artists as well as live ring tones from American Idol performances.

Cingular has become one of the more prominent networks in the cell phone industry. They offer great rates and plans including family plans, and rollover minutes. Off peak rates begin earlier than other companies too. They have features like all other networks do such as live video, internet options, and a variety of up-to-date cell phones with cameras, extra fast internet connections, push to talk, and more. They also offer a Go-Phone, which is a prepaid cell phone. The other great thing about Cingular is that you have a little memory card inside your phone, which is located under the battery, and you can store all of your phone numbers, dates, text messages, and more on it. The great thing about this feature is that when you upgrade or have to get a new phone, all your numbers and information comes with you!

As a customer of Cingular and knowing that I have used another network before, I would recommend anyone planning on getting a cell phone or looking to switch companies to Cingular. They do after all have the fewest dropped calls out of any other national network!
