Circle-Shaped Mother's Day Scrapbooking Layout Idea

Supply List and Step-by-Step Instructions for Creating This Scrapbook Layout

Amy Solovay
Here's an idea for a circle-shaped scrapbook layout. Feel free to use this idea for inspiration when you create Mother's Day scrapbook pages. It could also be adapted for other occasions as well. I created this page to commemorate our family's mother's day brunch from a few years ago. I used some circle-shaped supplies and a bold pink, black and cream color scheme.

My title says "We love grandma," but you could change that to "Mom" or "Dad" or a family member's name, if you prefer. With a subtle change like that, you could use this idea for creating birthday pages too.

Supply List:

Layout Base: Clear Scraps XL Dots 12" x 12" Acrylic Circle Shape.

Patterned Paper: "Loop 22" die cut paper and La Salle Road paper; both are from the My Neighborhood collection by My Little Shoebox.

For Creating the Title: My Little Shoebox chipboard alphabet letters from the "My Neighborhood" collection.

Ribbon: Pink and white polka dotted ribbon measuring 1.5 inches wide.

Rubber Stamp: From the Bella Flora Stamp Set by Inque Boutique.

Green Ink: Dye ink by Rubber Stampede.

Brads: The green brad is by Amy Butler / K & Company; the pink square metal mini-brads are by Queen and Company.

Scalloped Decorative Scissors: Paper Edgers in the "Clouds" and "Mini Scallop" designs by Fiskars.

Rub-On: Hambly.

Faux Flowers: Purchased in the silk floral department at Michael's craft store.

Gel pen for journaling.

Adhesive: Zip Dry paper glue.

One photo measuring four inches by six inches.

Layout Instructions:

Glue the die-cut patterned paper to the Clear Scraps acrylic XL dot using Zip Dry paper glue.

Cut a 2.5 inch band of the La Salle Road patterned paper using Fiskars Paper Edgers in the "Clouds" design. This paper is double-sided; if you cut from the multicolored / pink side rather than the black and cream side, there are some straight lines you can use as guidelines for cutting. When you actually adhere the paper, make sure that the black and cream side is facing up.

Before attaching the border, cut the edges of the LaSalle paper to match the curves on the XL dot. Then glue the paper to the base of the layout.

Glue the ribbon onto the layout on top of the paper border.

Adhere your photo on top of the ribbon and paper border.

Cut a heart-shaped piece out of the ribbon.

Attach the chipboard letters and your heart-shaped ribbon cutout for your title.

Stamp the flower stamp onto a scrap of light-colored patterned paper. Cut around the edges of it with Fiskars Mini-Scallop Paper Edgers. Please visit my article about how to make paper flowers for more information that will help you create similar flowers for using in your own scrapbook pages.

Attach an Amy Butler brad in the center of the hand-stamped flower.

Glue the flower to the layout.

Apply the Hambly rub-on, and add your journaling inside it.

Attach the mini-brads to the centers of the flowers, and adhere them to the layout.

Add the layout to your scrapbook album, and enjoy!
