Circulon Roasting Pan Review

The 16 Inch Circulon Roasting Pan Offers Easy Cleanup

For a long time we used an aluminum foil roasting pan to cook our Thanksgiving turkey. Since we usually only cook a turkey once per year, it was easier for us to toss the aluminum foil pan into the garbage, rather than be left with the messy roasting pan to clean. Since 'going green' is en vogue for 2009, we decided to come up with a little more permanent solution by not using throw away aluminum pans. We decided to go out and splurge on a roasting pan that we could use for many years to come.

My wife found a roasting pan on sale at a local retail outlet for just $25, and decided to make the purchase. She came home with a Circulon 16 inch non-stick roasting roaster. Non-stick surfaces have a history of peeling off with repeated use, so I am a little skeptical of how long this particular pan will last. It does come with a limited lifetime customer satisfaction warranty. So, with care it should last for at least a couple Thanksgiving feasts.

Upon bringing it home and opening up the box, we found that the pan consisted of two basic parts. The pan it self and a wire roasting rack. The non-stick surface seemed to be of fairly high quality. The pan was not very heavy, yet the aluminum construction was quite durable. The wire rack had a lip on either side that allowed it of hang just slightly above the bottom of the pan. This allows for air circulation around the bottom of the meat, which should help keep the cooking even. The pan is deep enough to allow it to capture plenty of drippings. The non stick cooking surface is listed as being able to withstand temperatures of up to 500 degrees. The pan is made of aluminum which helps ensure a uniform temperature through the pan.

The handles of the pan were placed on the side. So even though the pan lists as 16 inches wide, there is more space needed to accommodate the handles. If you want your roast to lie crosswise across the oven, the handles will stick out a bit and it can be a little difficult to bring out of the oven.

Cleanup was extremely easy. All that was required was a rinse and a light brush to wipe off burned grease. The rack seems to consist of the same non-stick surface and clean-up was just as easy.

Time will tell if the non stick surface of the circulon roasting pan holds up. If it is treated right, and gently handled, it should last for years to come. Plus, there is a lifetime customer satisfaction guarantee.
