On Thrusday January 10th I had the privilege to be one of the first people to see Cirque du Soleil: Corteo that is currently in San Diego, CA. This showing was a dress rehearsal where a lucky ground received free tickets to see the show. Many of these tickets were given to non-profit organizations to give out. One of the organizations that received this donation from Cirque du Soleil was San Diego's own Non-Profit circus organization "Fern Street Circus".
Corteo was an amazing, enchanting, and magical show. This artsy circus has lived up to its name on executing a perfect and outstanding show. Even during a dress rehearsal all the performers and backstage crews made each act of the show go excellent. The music, costumes, makeup, props, dancing, singing, and talents were all ten stars.
When the Corteo performance starts you are immediately taken to a magical place. The story starts off with a funeral procession and the story teller is a clown that takes you through his life as a performer. The beauty of Corteo is that it uses a variety of languages and talents of performances.
Acts include: great ring jugglers, an unsupported ladder act, clown performances, aerialist, trampoline artists, gymnastics, tight wire, and a variety of more. Cirque du Soleil definitely knows how to throw a performance. This circus combines theatre, comedy, circus talents, music, singing, and imagination together to give a godly experience to their audience.
If you have never seen Cirque du Soleil in performance I highly recommend this circus to anyone. If you are in the San Diego, Ca area during the month of January you should definitely purchase tickets for their show. Once you have the chance to see Corteo you will be hooked to the imagination and magic of this show.
If you would like to know more information about Cirque du Soleil please go to their website. Cirque du Soleil is one of the best circuses in the world. Once you have seen one of their performances you will want to see them again and again. Purchasing a ticket is well worth the experience.
