This card was developed with tracking business expenses in mind. The card is meant for individuals who purchase a lot of merchandise for business purposes. Due to the fact that the card is business oriented many of the features included reflect this. The Professional card allows applicants to transfer the balance of other cards to the Professional Card with a 0% APR (Annual Percentage Rate) for the first 12 months. Following the 12 month introductory period the APR on balance transfers will raise to 9.99%. In addition there is 0% APR on new purchases. This will also raise to 9.99% after the initial 12 month period. Cash advances are available on this card as well, however they do not fall under the 0% introductory period. Cash advances are subject to a 21.49% APR. In addition this card has no annual fee and a 3% fee is assessed for each balance transfer completed. Balance transfers can only be completed during the introductory period.
This card is not like many other cards, this card has an Online Expense Organizer that allows card holders to categorize their purchases based on type of purchase, project, tax deductible, or business trips. Another great feature of this card is that Citibank provides cardholders with free quarterly and annual account summaries.
If you are looking for a card but want something with rewards, Citi also offers the Citi Professional Card with Thank You. Thank You is Citibank's rewards program. This card offers 3 points for each dollar spent on qualified purchases. Purchases that do not fall under this offer still earn 1 point. The Citi Professional Card with Thank You offers 0% APR on balance transfers for 9 months. Following the introductory period the APR on balance transfers is increased to 12.49%. Another advantage to this card is that Citibank awards account holders 10,000 Thank You Points following their first purchase on the card. Online benefits of this card include balance inquiry, bill pay, ability to view unbilled credit card purchases, online only statements, and a simple balance transfer process.
Both of these cards offer many of the same benefits and are subject to credit approval. In addition if a card holder defaults on any Citibank card the introductory APR is automatically canceled and a much higher APR goes into effect. Currently the default APR is 30.49%.
The application process is similar for each card and can be completed online or over the phone. Those interested in the basic card can apply here and those interested in the card with Thank You can apply here. These cards are accepted at any retailer that accepts the MasterCard logo.
If you are looking for a truly business oriented card these two cards are worth your consideration.
