The City of Ferndale website is pleased to offer information to homeowners in Ferndale and surrounding areas that may help them avoid foreclosures. Some of the tips on the website were provided by the U. S. Treasury in a recent press release.
The most important things to remember when seeking ways to avoid foreclosure are that prompt action is necessary. If a homeowner even suspects that foreclosure may be forthcoming, steps should be taken immediately. These can include receiving counseling on managing housing and other bills, as well as contacting the bank or mortgage company and asking to speak to someone other than a person in collections to discuss the problem.
