City Workers Worried Over Change that Could Cause for Late Payroll Checks

In an interesting move by the Ferndale City Council, the payroll of the city now can be reviewed, and approved by the Council Finance Committee. There is a concern by some city workers that this could cause a lag in their paychecks.

I spoke to a few city workers that wished to stay anonymous due to backlash from their superiors that pointed out that the review of the city payroll by the Ferndale Council Finance Committee could slow down the payroll process. They stated that they have asked their superiors how the review process will go, but were told that there were no answers to be given. As of the publication of this piece, the city workers had still not received any answers to their questions about the potential lag in their pay.
