Cityville Tips and Tricks

As a new game, there are very few tips, tricks and cheats that have been found in CityVille. However, there are a few things that you can do early on in the game to get ahead. After visiting the cities of other players, it was clear that many of them are not maximizing their profits. CityVille requires players to have a lot of money to go forward.

Franchises

If you place an available franchise slot in your city, neighbors will build franchises. So you will get a free building, and earn money from the franchise. However, as you level up and unlock more features, your friends and neighbors will also be able to add more franchises.

Maximize your profits by deleting the stores that does not pay well. This may be the flower store, ice cream shop and toy store. Leave new franchise plots for friends to place the high paying buildings. Energy is very valuable, and it does not make sense to use an energy to collect 20 coins from a low paying store.

Stores and Homes

Just like franchises, players should delete low paying stores and houses, and build more expensive ones.

Visiting Neighbors

When you visit neighbors, always check to see if they have crops that are ready to be harvested. If you harvest the crops, you will receive 15 goods for each crop. If you have a lot of neighbors, this will translate into a couple hundred or thousand extra goods each day.

If there are no crops to harvest, you don't have to be picky about what you use your 5 daily energy on, in your friends city. Every other action pays the same amount. You will receive 1 heart and 25 coins fore each of your 5 daily actions in a neighbors city.

Crops

Goods are needed as badly as energy in CityVille. If you have no goods to restock your stores, you won't make any money. So from the start of the game, you should lay out a huge area to grow crops and buy a few extra storage units in the form of silo's and barns.

When you plant crops, try to stagger them. This means that instead of planting only four hour watermelons, you would plant the watermelons and another crop such as carrots. This way, you will always have crops that are ready to be harvested, and in a few hours you will have more crops and your energy will have replenished itself enough for you to do some more harvesting.

Missions

Like FrontierVille, CafeWorld and now FarmVille, CityVille contains a series of missions that you can complete to unlock higher paying items and buildings. However, you shouldn't blindly follow the missions when you first start the game. Once you do missions to unlock the train and pier, concentrate on making money.

The reason you should make money first and do later missions second is due to the fact that a lot of missions requires you to buy expensive items. One mission calls for you to buy community buildings, others require a school that costs twenty thousand coins and a playground. A later missions has gamers saving up one hundred thousand coins and this money will be removed once you reach that goal.
