Claims Against Obama Are Immature & Unfounded

Barely Having Stepped into Office, the Wolves Gather Already at His Door

John Melendez
ANTI-OBAMA CRAPAGANDA

An old acquaintance (hard-liner Republican) recently blasted me with an email castigating President Obama for spending federal funds recklessly and without regard to the many taxpayers who have funded much of his recent "big bailout" that has caught so much attention - especially in light of the whole deal with AIG.

Her email went on with the latest in anti-Obama crapaganda. Laced with words such as "Obamination", Obama-this and Obama-that, it's a great wonder I put up with this, and I wonder similarly whether my friend has a real life.

IMMATURE & UNFOUNDED

Of what is obvious is this: my friend's claims against President Obama's current handling of our economics are immature and unfounded.

Let's face a few facts...

FACT: Mr. Obama was elected at more that a marginal vote.

This delivers a clear message from voters that the United States and its people were fed up with the last eight years of blatant mishandling of our country's affairs.

Thanks in great part to our previous president, Obama has a big mess to clean up.

"All in the Family" - Not Some 1970s TV Show

The US has been shamefully shot in the foot over unfounded (at the very least, seriously inflated) allegations that Iraq was manufacturing Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). We have further been disgraced at the hideous warmongering from which the WMD allegations sprung. WMD was used as justification for the waste of billions of taxpayers' dollars on an invasion of two lands, with at least one other country whom our former president's father already left in a lurid state of waste.

Talk about keeping it "all in the family".

THAT LAST GUY'S STINKING LEGACY

Did we forget that when our soldiers arrived in Iraq, little to no evidence of WMD was found? After thousands of lives lost, with just as many thousands of broken families later, what did our former fearless leader have to say to this? A mere token comment that he may have been wrong. Shucks, I'm convinced at such touching sincerity.

And what of the taxpayer money spent for the so-called "war on terrorism" - an ongoing nightmare founded on dubious goals and schemes, and imminently ridden in a continuous quagmire of scandal at the hands of unregulated private contractors - veritable "privateers" whose questionable acts harken us to the days of state-endorsed warmongering pirates of our imperial-era ancestors. In they went as pirates, and out they came more obviously so.

And here we thought we weren't living in the 16th century.

After all the loose-cannon shenanigans and more, it's no wonder the people got fed up and voted for the only sane voice speaking from the pulpit.

FACT: Mr. Obama has been in office for barely 2 months

Mainstream media and other interested parties have been blathering on and on in all manner of criticism over Mr. Obama's recent acts in his so-far short term in office as President of this country. Some critics even seem to go so far as to blame Obama outright for the sad state of affairs in which our economy lies.

Let's get real, folks! The economy was in a recession before Obama took office! And he's only been in office for two short months!

Considering the fact he inherited the biggest pile of economic and political mishandling that we may ever be witness to in our lives, of course Mr. Obama is going to have to act in a drastic manner, and employ openly reactive measures.

Obama has no choice. Given the rubble and carnage the previous president left in his disgraceful wake, if President Obama moves slowly, then the situation with the economy, jobs, worldwide political stability, and other things could only get worse.

Obama has got to act, act drastically, and act now!

NOT PERFECT, BUT THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB

To fix things, Obama needs money.

No, I don't agree that taxpayers should be funding the fix-it for our previous president's screw up. Nor should our Asian friends either. But that's an argument for a different venue.

Agreed, we need to have a careful set of checks, balances, and other regulatory measures in place to make certain the money is well-spent. But unfortunately while the back-patting old boys would prefer to sit back and argue about how they would like to spend our money, these same cronies wouldn't mind if another person lost their job and had to move out on the street with their family - just as long as it's not the old crony and his family.

The insidious reality Mr. Obama faces is this whole thing was set up to fail - and if not fail - then be well-nigh impossible to fix - by George(s)!

A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

Given the current sad state of affairs, given the intelligence with which he is able to speak without fear of reaching out to willingly shake the hands of the people who pay his salary, and given the alternative team (a moose hunter and death-warmed-over) that would have otherwise been running this country, it is clear that Barack Obama is the breathe of fresh air the country needs now.

GIVE PRESIDENT OBAMA THE CHANCE TO DO HIS JOB

Time will tell whether a seemingly intelligent and capable man can fix the shambles his unscrupulous predecessor left behind.

Call off the wolves and let Barack Obama do his job - a job that forces him to be nothing less than a political crap-shoveler, all thanks to the eight years of madness that preceded him.

I agree with you 100%. The guy has alot on his plate. I wish people will realize that he is not genie in a bottle. It toke over eight years to create this mess and believe it will take just as long to get out of it.

Thank goodness! In a vast AC wilderness where conservative writers on the site keep pouncing and pouncing on Obama as if he has no reason to live, your article is a most welcome breath of fresh air. I think Obama has gotten off to a very strong start, and this is especially the case considering the crap that has been thrown at him from his disgraced predecessor.

Fantastic article and so well said. An Obama Mama, I got to shake his hand in Elkhart, Indiana before he was elected, and got to see him again at his first town hall meeting in Elkhart after his election. I agree he is a breath of fresh air, and has inherited a pile of crap, if anyone can help us it is him.
