Clairaudience: How to Tap Into and Use Your Intuitive Sense of Hearing

Bel Marshall
If you talk to anyone in the metaphysical world, there are many terms and phrases that are commonly heard. While some of these terms may be used often, they are seldom really understood by someone who has not experienced them.

Clairaudience is one such term. It is defined as clear hearing, and most make the assumption that what is heard sounds like the guy sitting in the chair next you as he chats with you. While this is one manner of clairaudience, it is not the only way many experience clear hearing.

Many people experience hearing a voice calling their name just as they start to fall asleep or a voice will wake them from a sound sleep. Most assume this is a dream, but more often than not it is actually a clairaudient experience. The sound is clear and while you may not be able to hear it again, as you have been startled and your defenses have gone up, it is still a real experience. The next time you hear that voice, remain very calm and ask a question; many times you will hear an answer.

Many who have clear hearing though do not hear the voices outside of their head; instead it is actually in their head. No, this is not a schizophrenic moment but most ignore the messages and voices and pass them off as their imagination.

Have you ever been positive you could hear someone close to you calling for you even though there is no sound only later to find out that they were in need of you at the time? That is actually clairaudience.

For some their clairaudience can be so high that they can hear conversations around the block but for most it's not quite that intense. For those who work in the physic realm, they ask a question and hear the answer when utilizing their clairaudience. For those who experience it in their head, they can often hear the tone of the voice and determine if it's male of female, young or old. Some are not quite so defined but with a little practice it becomes clearer.

For most, clairaudience is a way of communicating with spirit guides and loved ones on that have crossed over to the other side. If you wish to work with your own clairaudience, you can do so very easily, it simply take a little time and practice.

Find a quiet place that you won't be interrupted and breathe. Quiet your mind as much as you can; while it is assumed that anyone who meditates can totally clear their thoughts, very few are actually able to get their brain to function in such a way. If thoughts comes to you acknowledge them and release them. Take a few deep breaths until your mind is as quiet as you are able to make and relax. When you feel you are in a space that is calm and not being influenced by anything else, you can ask either silently or out loud some basic questions. Asking your spirit guide for their name is always a good place to start, ask for any messages that you need to hear at that time, then quiet yourself again and listen with both your ears and your head. The more you do this the more your clairaudience will increase. You will be amazed by what comes to you. The more you practice this, the easier the messages will come to you.

Clairaudience is not something for the special or the few; we all have the ability to be clairaudient as well as all the other "clear senses". Take some time and fine tune your senses and you will discover that you have probably had clairaudient experiences many times in your life.
