Clallam Bay and Sekiu Washington Are Great Places to Stay Cool This Summer

Clallam Bay and Sekiu are two cities located along the rim of a breath-taking bay of the Olympic Peninsula in the State of Washington. A magical place for visitors seeking peace, quiet and the ability to unwind in a stress free environment this is exactly what Clallam Bay and Sekiu offer.

Families can enjoy Clallam Bay and Sekiu by taking advantage of hiking, camping, beachcombing, kayaking, watching the land and ocean wildlife and of course fishing. There are several things that visitors will find fun and interesting when visiting Clallam Bay and Sekiu Washington.

The Makah Cultural Center at Neah Bay is where visitors can learn and view exhibits that share the early life of the Makah Indians along the Northern Coast of Washington. Educational and fun for the entire family the Makah Cultural Center is a must see when visiting the Clallam Bay and Sekiu area. The Makah Tribes first came to the Pacific Northwest around the 1700's and with the Europeans arriving sometime in the 16th century. Filled with historical significance the Makah Cultural Center is a favorite of many visitors.

Clallam Bay Park is located along the beach and by crossing over the Clallam River Bridge visitors can find themselves right at the ocean's edge. A great place for picnicking and beach combing Clallam Bay Park is a beautiful area of the Olympic Peninsula and while walking the beaches visitors can view the many shore birds and other ocean wildlife.

Slip Point is just east of the Clallam Bay Bridge a wonderful area for families to enjoy the discovery of tide pools and the exciting lighthouse residence in this area. A wonderful day of exploration is ahead when visiting Slip Point.

Visit the village of Sekiu a unique bay front fishing village. Sekiu means, "quiet waters" which is truly what this wonderful fishing village actually provides to its visitors. When in Sekiu Village be sure to book a day on one of the local charter boats and go fishing for those award-winning salmon and halibut.

Camp, picnic, canoe or hike at Lake Ozette, Cape Alava or Sand Point on the Olympic Peninsula all found along Clallam Bay.

Travel northwest up the coast from Sekiu to Neah Bay and enjoy viewing the resident eagles. Majestic creatures the bald eagle and along with the local residents during migration time visitors can view the migrating o the eagles to this area. Also along this shoreline visitors can view gray whales, otters and herons quite often.
