Ravenswood Alderman Gene Schulter, along with Department of Transportation representatives and members of the Ravenswood business community celebrated the completion of the Ravenswood neighborhood long awaited new Clark Street Streetscape. This $7.4 million project, which held its groundbreaking ceremony back in April 2010, has beautified Clark between Montrose and Ainslie with a collection of decorative items. These new additions include decorative planters, lighting and Clark Street shopping district community identifiers.
Joining Alderman Schulter on Friday, December 10, 2010 in celebrating the project were Jackie Taylor, from the Black Ensemble Theater, Sean Coleman, Janet Attarian and Chris Shickels, from the Ravenswood Community Council. Alderman Schulter states, "I really believe that a new look on Clark Street is going to have a huge impact on the economic development initiatives in the Ravenswood neighborhood."
