Classic Caramel Apples

Ingredients for Caramel Apples Halloween Recipe

6 apples
2 cups of individual caramels, unwrapped
2 tbsp milk
6 popcicle sticks

Optional extras for Caramel Apple Halloween Recipe:
Oreos, crushed
M&M's, crushed
Graham crackers, crushed
Nuts, crushed
Chocolate Chips
Sprinkles
Caramel Drizzle
Chocolate Drizzle

Directions for Caramel Apple Halloween Recipe:

Remove the stems from the apples and place them in the refrigerator overnight or in the freezer for an hour. The apples have to be cold for the caramel to stick well.

Stick the popcicles into the apple where the stem had been.

Place the caramels and milk into a large pyrex dish and microwave at 50% of the power for approximately 2.5 minutes. Stir and make sure the caramel is smooth and that there are no lumps.

Let the caramel cool down for 2-3 minutes and start turning the apple while dipping into the caramel to ensure that you coat the entire apple in a smooth coating.

If you want to use one of the extra optional ingredients do so quickly after dipping the apples in the caramel, to help the goodies stick.
Place each caramel apple back into the freezer for approximately 15 minutes.

This makes 6 Caramel Apples for Halloween
