Each day, from May 1 to Labor Day, Claws 'N' Paws opens the zoo at 10:00 A.M. Preparations have been made for a day filled with visitors who will walk the trails, taking pictures of over 120 exotic and rare species of animals. It is a unique experience to wander through the woods and come upon a habitat of filled with White Tigers or Black Panthers. These gorgeous and beautiful animals are waiting for you, as they relax in the sun speckled shade of a forest of trees. Shows are offered throughout the day, including The Wildlife Encounters Show. Imagine the excitement of getting to pet an Alligator or a Python as the crowd holds their breath!
Claws 'N' Paws was also the first zoo on the East Coast to open a Lory Feeding Area. Each day, step into a colorful world of friendly birds waiting to eat an apple from your hand! Lories are small parrots found mainly in Australia and Indonesia. The Zoo In The Woods takes pride in the fact that their Lories are bred in the United States, have been hand fed and raised from birth to be especially gentle and sweet and think that humans are there for their enjoyment only! Can you see the smiles on your child's face as one of these wonderful birds sits on his shoulder to eat an apple?
Other attractions include a petting zoo, where you or your children can hug a deer or a goat, the ability to feed a giraffe named Twiga and time to spend petting an Arrican Turtle! There are so many things to do at this exciting Zoo In The Woods, that you will want to return again and again. Take time this Summer to spend a day or two walking through the majestic Pocono Mountains and their little Zoo In The Woods. You will be glad you did!

Post a CommentPark is NOT handicapped friendly. Food choice is slim. According to my family seeing the animals was great and the staff friendly. Ground is VERY rocky and not level.
The food should be good for us carnivores. :-)
