Clay Aiken: Gay Role Model

Funsponge
Clay Aiken is the latest male celebrity to come out of the closet. Clay Aiken was the runner up on the second season of American Idol. Even though he lost, he went on to bigger and better things. He wrote a best selling book called Learning to Sing: Hearing the Music in Your Life. He did eight tours and released four studio albums. He even landed a role on Broadway in Monty Python's Spamalot, which he played Sir Robin. He also started a charity for disabled children called the Bubel/Aiken Foundation. On August 8th 2008, he added being a father to his long resume.

In the September 2008 issue of People magazine, Clay Aiken finally admits that he is gay. But everybody already knew he is gay. The tabloids have already outed him with their scandalous pictures and stories of him being with men sexually. Plus nobody has never seen him with a girlfriend in the many years he has been in the spotlight. Even though his coming out is no surprise, it is a good and courageous thing he did. He is finally honest to himself and his fans. The main reason he wanted to come out is because he is now a dad and he didn't want to lie to his son. It is very hard to come out in Hollywood because of the backlash from people who believe homosexuality is a sin. It is hard to come out anywhere. It takes lots of courage to admit who you really are.
