And even when I'm not wearing makeup sometimes if I come in too late or I'm just exhausted, it's just sucks to drag myself to the bathroom to clean my face. So when I was given a free sample of a packet of Clean & Clear's new Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes I was glad because they were much needed.
The sample packet I was given came with 7 moistened wipes concealed in a plastic pouch with a re-useable seal. The wipes usually retail for $6.29 for 25 sheets. The wipes contain water and chemical ingredients like cetyl ethylhexanoate, isotearyl palmitate, and pentaerythrityl.
Clean & Clear claims "these convenient, pre-moistened oil-free wipes instantly dissolve all traces of dirt, oil, and makeup deep down to the pores. They even remove waterproof mascara. In one easy step, your skin is left perfectly clean and refreshed with no oily residue, so there's no need to rinse."
The first time I used one of the Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes, was a few weeks ago when I'd come home one night exhausted with a face full of makeup. I had on a bit of foundation, blush, and lots of mascara and eye shadow.
I really needed to, but I didn't feel like going to wash all of that crap off, but then I realized I had those wipes so I decided to use one. The Clean & Clear Cleansing Wipes have a pleasant fresh smell and they remind me of a thicker version of a Bounce dryer sheet because they have the same smooth texture.
The Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes were gentle on my skin and great at removing my makeup. One swipe got rid of most of my foundation and blush, though it did take several swipes to remove all of the eye shadow and mascara I had on, but one wipe removed every stitch of makeup I had on.
I thought the Clean & Clear Wipes were going to irritate my eyes, but it was surprisingly gentle and it didn't burn them at all. The wipes also weren't drying to the rest of my skin; in fact it left it looking a little too moisturized. Even though my face didn't feel oily and gross, whatever moisturizing ingredient in this stuff made me look a little too shiny and greasy so I actually did want to wash my face with a regular cleanser afterwards.
In The End...
I'm not sure if I will buy the Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes. These sheets did a great job at removing my makeup and keeping my skin moist, but my face looked too shiny afterwards so I still felt like I needed to use some soap and water on it. I guess they're ok to use before bed, I give them 4 out of 5 stars.
