Clean Up Your Man in Three Easy Steps

Lucas Grasse
It's important to know what to do to help your man look his best for that special night out or to meet with your family, co-workers, or other important people.

The thing to realize is that your man may not CARE about looking dashing, or even less than scuzzy. Some men even pride themselves on being the ugliest man on the block. So cleaning him up takes cunning, psychology, and, of course, great products and clothes.

Step 1: Set him up

Different men are motivated by different things. Some will be easy to motivate, because they want to make you happy. Others are more selfish, and are looking for something personal. You know your man (don't you?) so you already know what makes him tick.

So frame ""cleaning up"" around that idea.

""Honey, It would REALLY help me out if you could just put on a shirt when my parents visit!""

""Dear, you know we'll get more of my rich grandmother's inheritance if you wear a nice tweed coat!""

""No shirt, no sex. Period.""

Step 2: Clean him up

This should be easy, because the secret here is that you don't have to do it! Don't trust him to groom himself. You already know he's impossible. Just take him down to your favorite salon and tell them to give him the once-over. Nothing complicated or expensive -- just a shave, hair trim, and a mini-manicure should do the trick.

Step 3: Dress the part

This is the fun part. Pick out clothes that are modern and fit the occasion, but be sure to make them seem manly enough and ""him"" enough that he'll forgive you for sending him to a salon. Slim-fit jeans, and simple shirts made out of a nice material (newer bamboo-based fabrics look fabulous, provided you iron them, and they're quite inexpensive).

By following these three steps, you'll have a good looking guy at your arm. Just make sure you tell him how great, sexy, and smart he looks after this makeover!
