Many resort to harsh cleaners and chemicals and the laborious project or scrubbing with a scrub brush or abrasive pad to tackle the bathtub. It can be time consuming and difficult work. And sometimes, at best, you achieve little more than scratching your tub and making it even more difficult to clean in the long term. Once the bathtub surface becomes scratched, dirt embeds into the scratches making future cleaning even more difficult.
That was the old fashioned way of cleaning a bathtub and an approach that many people probably still follow today. However, there is a new product out or relatively new at least that makes the task of cleaning your bathtub as simple as cleaning windows in your home. The product is trademarked as the Magic Eraser, but it available as a store brand in many different names. It looks like a soft white sponge and cleans with nothing more than water. Its actually made from white melamine fibers and works by utilizing a microscopic abrasive that gets into every nook, cranny, and scratch in a surface. The product pulls dirt and grime off of the surface and into the eraser.
Using the Magic Eraser to clean your bathtub couldn't be easier. Start by wetting down the eraser and then wring it out. Once damp, move the eraser over the tub's surface in a circular motion. It will quickly pull dirt and soap scum off of the surface of the tub with very little pressure used. Continue across the entire surface of the tub until all of the dirt is removed. You will know that the dirt is removed when the eraser glides easily over the surface. Any resistance felt means that more dirt is present. Continue until the eraser glides smoothly over the surface. Once this step is completed, follow with a dry towel to remove any remaining water and dirt and the task is complete.
So next time your decide to tackle cleaning your bathtub turn to current technology like the Magic Eraser rather than resorting to scrubbing and back breaking labor. This melamine foam based product make the chore a simple task and will make your bathtub shine in no time.
