Cleaning Product Review: Mr. Clean Magic Erasers

Will Remove Any Hard Surface Stain!

Alyssa Branen
When we first moved into Military Housing, I was six months pregnant. We were told we were not allowed to place a bath mat down in the tub, as it would leave rings and we would have to pay to have them removed. After a week of slipping and sliding in that shower, I just had to put one down. I was willing to risk having to pay for the rings being removed as long as it meant I wouldn't slip and harm myself or the baby. So I went out and bought one of those mats with the wavy suctions at the buttom, not really thinking about the consequences, as I figured we would either get to stay in Hawaii for four more years (My husband had already been there three years when I met him and married him and was due to put in for new orders)or we would transfer somewhere else at the end of the year. Either way, I had a year to worry about the stains the mat would leave.

Well, fast forward to a year and a half later and we found ourselves scrambling to clean the carpets, drapes, bathrooms as our final housing inspection was drawing near. We managed to get most of the stains in our rug up, but nothing would take the nasty, dark yellow wavy stains up from the bath mat in our tub. We tried bleach pens, soap scum sprays, nothing worked. We were getting extremely nervous, as we couldn't really afford to have the stains removed by professionals. I had seen the commercial for the Mr Clean Magic Erasers and thought what the heck, might as well try it, right? Well I'm glad I did! They completely removed every single spot on that tub. Hallelujah!! I now use them to clean the toilet as well. These are the best cleaning product ever made as far as I'm concerned. They are great for when my son decides to write on the walls. It removes marker, pen and crayon markings. This product is worth every penny. It even removed a deep embedded mystery stain that was on our tile kitchen floor. This product is a must! There is also very little of the harsh bleach smell that you get when using liquid bleach products. It also doesn't bleach my clothes when I accidentally rub against a surface I just used to clean it. Unlike all the other bleach products I have used.

Well, I just read an email that mr clean magic erasers contain Formaldehyde! For those who do not know, this is the chemical they use to preserve dead bodies.... Apparently it is extremely harmful- especially if you have children and pets! I know babies like to lick walls and windows! Apparently magic erasers are slowly being banned. Research it for yourself. I just learned this through an email my husband recieved..... Just in case this is true, everyone has a heads up!
