Newspaper is the Green Way to Clean Your Windows

Don't you think using paper towels waste so much money especially if you're just going to use it to clean your windows? You probably waste a whole roll just to clean all the windows in your house and you wouldn't even notice it until you're done cleaning. Why not use a cheap and more effective way to clean without wasting a lot of money? Newspapers don't cost any money at all if you already have them at your house. But, if you don't, then just go buy a newspaper for seventy-five cents and read it. After you read it, then whatever you don't want to keep, you can just used it to clean your windows. They are made out of paper, so when you're done cleaning windows, you can just throw them away in the trashcan or recycle them. So, let's start off with what items you need to get cheap, clean streak-free windows.

Items to use when cleaning

The first item you need for cleaning windows is any glass cleaner. After that, find some newspapers around your house. Depending on how many windows there are plus the size of them, the amount of newspapers you are going to use does matter. I would say a half sheet of a newspaper would clean about two to three regular windows. So, you just take one sheet of newspaper and rip it in the middle. Also, if your arms can't reach parts of your windows, you should get a chair or ladder to help you with the reaching.

How you clean your windows

Take your glass cleaner and spray it in the center of your window. It doesn't matter which side of the window you're cleaning first. But if you have a huge window, I recommend you spray near the top of the window and near the bottom of the window. Take the half sheet of newspaper and crumble it into a ball shaped form. Begin pressing your ball shaped newspaper on the part where you spray. Move in clockwise circular directions and spread it around your window. Then, move the newspaper up and down, streaking it until your window is clean. Do the same routine for the other windows too.

Pros of using Newspapers instead

Well, the first pro of using newspapers to clean is that they don't waste the stuff you actually need to use for other things. Another pro is that they clean better than paper towels. Paper towels leave those tiny little things on your windows while newspapers leave them streak-free. Also, newspapers are safe enough to be recycled. You have less mess to pick up and clean when you are using the newspapers. So, if you are looking for a better and easier way to clean your windows, then you should absolutely try newspaper!
