The best and first step in clearing up psoriasis, cleansing your body, and eliminating toxins, which can cause psoriasis, is to drink plenty of water. Since the majority of our body (70-75 percent) is water, then water is the best cleanser for our bodies. It flushes out bad bacteria, acids, and an overflow of toxins in the system. Drink at least 64 ounces a day. The next natural treatment to help clear psoriasis and clean your system is to eat plenty of stewed fruits, such as figs, apples, raisins, apricots, peaches, pears, and prunes. Each one of these fruits help to flush out your system by cleaning your bowels.
Rubbing olive oil or castor oil on your psoriasis can help to moisten the skin without irritating it and causing a lot of oily buildup. These oils are natural and light. Stop using antiperspirant, which block normal removal of sweat through glands. However, you can use regular deodorant. Trying hydrotherapy treatments can work to help clear psoriasis. The psoriasis may get worse before it gets better but this natural treatment works. To soothe the increased burning and itching you may experience, mix one cup of apple cider vinegar (if the skin is not cracked) and one cup of oats into a powder or your can add a pound of baking soda that will also help. Take a bath in this mixture for 15 to 20 minutes a day.
Taking slippery elm can help coat the inner lining of the intestinal wall, which strengthens and heals the intestines, and cuts down on toxin build up. Put ½ teaspoon of slippery elm powder in a cup of warm water, let it sit for 15 minutes, then stir and drink. Take this right before breakfast and don't eat for 30 minutes. Drink the tea until the psoriasis clears, and then drink every other day. Another herbal tea that can help clear psoriasis is Yellow Saffron. Put ¼ teaspoon of saffron in a cup, add boiling water, and let it sit for 15 minutes. Drink it for five days in a row or until your psoriasis clears up. Yellow saffron helps flush out toxins in the liver and kidney. You can also take one tablespoon of granular lecithin three times a day five days a week as a natural cleanser.
Lastly, to help clear psoriasis cut down or eliminate fatty foods, processed foods, butter and margarine, and increase your intake of fish, fruits, and vegetables. Also, doing exercises can help eliminate toxins through sweat. Exercises increase the circulation, and opens the pores and glands.
