Clear Shine Luminous Color Glaze by John Frieda

I have dyed my hair quite a few times this past month alone. I am blessed that my hair is still in good condition; blessed I'm not bald. Hehe.

Anyways, before this whole hair dye kick I had black hair, before the black hair I had platinum blond. I like change when it comes to my hair. I like experimenting with different colors to see what color suits me best... and sometimes I just screw around with my locks just because I'm bored. For the most part though I have been relatively lucky. I seem to have a skin tone that any hair color goes well with. Thank you genes!

Anyways, as of now I have multi colored locks. Some black strands, blond, and red strands. Overall, my hair is a ... cool multi-colored autumn tree. There is no particular color in general, it's multi!!!

I had used John Frieda's Color Glaze before, for when I had blond hair. However when I was about to purchase the Clear Shine Color Glaze, I could not remember if I loved it or hated it.

I went ahead and purchased it anyway. The Clear Shine Luminous Color is designed for any hair color. Perfect, seeing how mine is every kind of color. Haha!

The Promise:

The reason I wanted John Frieda's Clear Shine Color Glaze was because to be honest, the packaging caught my eye as attractive, expensive, and after picking the package up and reading the promise, I was pretty convinced.

The package basically claimed that using John Frieda's Clear Shine Color Glaze, I would be adding a permanent shiny rich glaze to my hair permanently!!! Oh, oh....I'm enchanted!

Directions:

They were easy to follow. Simply shampoo and condition as usual, after rinsing add a generous amount of the Glaze to your wet hair, (saturate hair with Glaze) leave the serum in your hair for 3 minutes, and then rinse.

So this is what I did.

I shampooed and conditioned and rinsed.

I then twisted of the cap from the Clear Shine Color Glaze, and tipped the bottle upside down to squeeze out some glaze. This was when remembered this stuff; all too well.

The serum came flowing out quickly. This is by far the most runny crap I had ever used in my hair. The memories of using the Glaze for platinum hair all came back. That same runny gunk I used a bout a year ago...and still the formula is yet to be fixed.

For me, it's just to runny. Most of the serum I squeezed out went running down my hands and arms, and eventually making its way to the drain.

The smell is also pretty nasty. It smells like chlorine and chemicals. Even with the bad smell, and runny texture, I was not about to waste the glaze.

I applied it to my hair, and that yucky feeling made itself known. It made my hair feel very rubbery, dry, and slick. I hated the feeling, and wondered if it was going to dry my hair out. Something I did not need, after dying it so many times!

Results:

Not as terrible as I had imagined. I assumed because of the way it made my hair feel that it would dry my hair out. It did not, so that was a major plus. It didn't however add as much glowing mirror shine as I first thought it would. There was shine, but it was as shiny as it normally is after showering and blow drying.

Overall:

Disappointing. The serum itself is messy, it smells bad, and does not give the shiny results you would expect it to give. I find using a glosser on dry hair works the best wonders when you are looking to achieve shinier locks.

The price is also a bit much for what it does. I got my bottle for $7.97 at my local Walmart. It usually sells for $10.00 though.

It's just not worth $10.00 in my opinion.
