Clear Up Your Skin - for Only $2!

Getting clear skin for two dollars might sound too good to be true, but I have finally found a skincare routine that actually works for me. I have tried everything from several drugstore brands to more expensive options like Proactiv, and found that this combination is more effective than any of them. If you are wondering what this magical combination is, you might be surprised to hear that it is probably something you already have in your house. The first item can probably be found in your kitchen: Baking Soda. The second is probably waiting for you in your bathroom: Hydrogen Peroxide.

The baking soda is used in place of a facial cleanser. Simply get your face and hands wet. Sprinkle on about a teaspoon of baking soda and rub it into your face. Go gently. It might make your skin red the first few times until you get used to it. The baking soda also works as a great, gentle, everyday exfoliator which is another bonus because you do not need to purchase a separate one.

Also, once a week the baking soda can be used as a mask. Mix a small handful with some water and spread it over your face. Leave it on until it dries. It will be dry in about 5 to 10 minutes and it rinses off easily.

Use the hydrogen peroxide as a toner. Put some on a cotton ball and smooth it over your face. Keep in mind that if you have brown hair it will lighten it to an orangey color so keep it away from your hairline and eyebrows. If you find this too drying, simply put the hydrogen peroxide directly on the pimples and they will go away within a day or two.

I do this process morning and night, but if your skin is too sensitive you might want to only do it once a day. I find it's great for brightening up your skin in the morning so you may prefer to do it then rather than at night.

I feel that using these two products together has greatly improved my skin. I used to break out all over my face and now I only get one or two pimples a month. They dry out and go away much faster than they used to now as well. I feel this combination is worth a shot for anyone who has been struggling with breakouts except for people with extremely sensitive skin. At about $1 a piece for a box of baking soda and a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, what do you have to lose?
