Review of The Feng Shui of Abundance. Early on in Clearing the Clutter for good Feng Shui, Lambert states that your home is supposed to mirror your inner self. A cluttered and stressful home correlates to your stressful life and prevents good energy from flowing in and out of your home's spaces. An easy way to tackle any clutter is to set realistic cleaning goals. Setting goals makes it easier to get rid of junk because you are mentally "clearing the pathway to your dreams."

Before you can address your clutter Lambert believes you must use space clearing rituals to clean your home of negative energy. Space clearing rituals include smudging, burning incense and aromatherapy oils, clapping, and using natural salt. Smudging is the use of smoldering herbs to cleanse the energy of a home. Aromatherapy and incense create a sweet smell to push away negative energy. Clapping uses the noise of your hands to disperse bad energy, and natural salt is used to soak up the negatives vibes from each particular room.

After your home has been cleansed, attack your home's clutter hot spots, including the entrance and hall, attic, basement, back door, and corridors and hallways. Then move on to the rest of the house, one room at a time. Remember to ask yourself honestly how you would feel if an item were removed or taken away. One simple way to ease the pain of getting rid of your items is to bag them for your friends or charity. Don't save the items in your home; bag them up and move them out as quickly as possible.

Lambert also reminds us to focus on the clutter in your car and wallets or purses. Just because this clutter is on the move does not mean that it provides any less stress! Trying to dig through a jumbled purse is time consuming, frustrating, and wastes energy. Taking the time to clean out these obstacles will result in less stress down the road.

Clearing the Clutter for good Feng Shui finishes by dealing with traditional feng shui cures, like mirrors, wind chimes, and crystals. While hanging these extras in your home may or may not bring you good fortune, clearing out the clutter will most certainly have a positive affect on your life, even if it just means you are always able to find your keys!
