Well, nail stains aren't impossible to remove, they're actually very simple to remove following these quick DIY steps. You'll probably have most of these ingredients in your pantry anyway, and it'll save you the money, instead of going to a salon. Using these tips will remove those unsightly stains on your nails and return them to a healthy, natural color. People might not exactly admire normal, healthy nails but stained, discolored nails will always get noticed.
Lemon Juice:
Lemon Juice is a natural lightener, brightener and bleach so it'll remove to stains right off your nails. There are two ways of using this method; you can remove the stains by dipping your nails into a bowl of lemon juice for 5 or 10 minutes, or you can rub a lemon slice over your nails. This will obviously sting a bit though, lemon is a citrus!
Buffing Nails:
You won't need much for this, just a nail buffer. If your nail is lightly stained on the top, it makes sense to remove the stain from that layer of the nail. Just buff your nails until the stain is gone and you'll have healthier and shinier nails too. You have to make sure not to buff away too vigorously, otherwise your nails will be thin and brittle.
Whitening Toothpaste:
The peroxide in whitening toothpastes will get rid of stains on your nails easily. Rub the toothpaste onto your nails and then brush it in with an old toothbrush until all stains are removed.
Prevention:
If you have stained nails due to painting your nails too often, you can prevent this by applying a clear base coast before painting your nails. Light colors may not stain your nails as mush, but deep colors such as burgundy or dark blue will leave stains on your nails if they're worn for a long time. Try wearing lighter colors to prevent stains.
All of these tips use natural, everyday ingredients that won't harm your nails. If you use strong, chemical ingredients such as bleach, you might have clean nails again, but they'll be brittle and weak. If you keep your nails healthy and regularly take care of them, they'll be stronger and won't split or buckle.
